2003. Exhibition. lllustrations by Tudor Jebeleanu
Tudor Jebeleanu is a remarkable graphic artist whose longtime efforts to keep a low profile were permanently undermined by his name. Always close to poetry world, in 1982 he designed and illustrated a book for the history: “Air with Diamonds”, featuring 4 young poets who forced the Romanian poetry into postmodernism. Therefore he could not resist, twenty years later, when one of those youngsters, Mircea Cartarescu, in the meantime an eminent writer, asked him to design his “50 sonnets” book, printed by Brumar publishing house. The result were 50 exquisite original illustrations by Tudor Jebeleanu, and Brandient happily sponsored the exhibition of those pieces of art in Bucharest in December 2003.
2002. Transit. Photography by Cosmin Bumbut
Well known in Romania for his acclaimed advertising and fashion photography, Cosmin Bumbut wanted to reveal a larger palette of his work to the public. Therefore he put together some amazing images in “Transit”, an album published by the prestigious house Humanitas, with foreword and comments by distinguished Romanian philosopher and writer Gabriel Liiceanu. Brandient is proud to have sponsored him by designing the album cover and the entire layout by our Creative Partner Cristian “Kit” Paul. A small contribution to the album being awarded the “Most beautiful books in Romania” prize in 2003 (art books section) by the Romanian Publishers Association.
