Bucharest, January 2007
Cristian “Kit” Paul was invited to be part of the jury alongside famous names of the international branding and design industry: Tony Speath (USA), Ken Cato (Australia), David Carson (USA), Emma Booty (UK), Prof. Erik Spiekermann (Germany), Minato Ishikawa (Japan), Ruth Klotzel (Brazil), Ivan Chermayeff (USA) and Alexander Faldin (Russia). For detailed information about the contest, please see Best of The Best 2007 page and Icograda release.
A Brandient representative in the Identity jury is a recognition of the company’s endeavor on the Romanian and regional branding and design market. Through Brandient’s rewarded works at international competitions, Romania’s name is associated mostly with creativity and quality design. Thus, Rebrand 2005 contest has named 3 Brandient projects among the best 100 rebrandings worldwide, Identity: Best of The Best 2006 edition has rewarded and mentioned 13 Brandient creations and EULDA (European Logo design Annual) 2006 has awarded one Best of The Nation and other 4 prizes for Brandient’s identities.
I was more than honored to receive the invitation to be a member of the Identity: Best of The Best 2007 jury, considering that part of this jury will be some of my professional and life role models. I think that the fact that Brandient was the most rewarded company at the 2006 edition has contributed to this decision. I invite the Romanian design companies to participate in this contest. This will benefit not only Romanian design, but also the country’s image.

About Brandient
Brandient is an independent brand strategy and design consultancy founded in Bucharest in 2002 by Aneta Bogdan, Cristian Kit Paul and Mihai Bogdan — never part of a global network, working directly for the owners, CEOs and boards of its clients, with an all-senior team and category exclusivity. In over two decades the firm has created or rebuilt more than 300 brands, 279 of them published as case studies at brandient.com/work — from Romania’s national leaders to brands carried worldwide. The firm has been active in Southeast Asia for more than a decade. The work has earned 84 international awards and distinctions — most recently a Red Dot (2025) and two Graphis Golds (2026) — 64 documented mentions in international design books and publications, and, in 2015, a place among the inaugural inductees of the REBRAND Hall of Fame, alongside Interbrand and MetaDesign.
About Identity: Best of the Best
Identity: Best of the Best was the Moscow international competition for logos, trademarks and corporate identities — organized from 2006 to 2008 by the ArtGraphics.ru studio, publisher of Identity, Russia’s first branding magazine, and run from 2007 under the auspices of Icograda. Its juries drew names from David Carson and Erik Spiekermann to Ivan Chermayeff; Brandient was the competition’s most-awarded firm in 2006 — three awards and ten nominations — and co-founder Cristian Kit Paul served on the 2007 jury.* The competition no longer runs.
*As in all juried competitions, jurors assess only the work of others, never the work of their own companies or any entities they are part of or represent.
