Aneta’s inspirational book turns digital
Bucharest and Singapore, May 2019
Branding on the Eastern Front, by Aneta Bogdan, with a Foreword by Wally Olins, is now available in digital format on Amazon. You can browse and download the e-book from Amazon.
Branding on the Eastern Front is both a testimony of how Western-born approaches must adapt to emerging economies, and a crash course in branding for entrepreneurs, marketers, and contemporary consumers of any kind.
The author is never average: cynical and idealistic, authoritarian and inspirational—a fresh, break-the-rules storyteller with a speculative and passionate discourse, that provides an informed view on the debate around the transformative power of branding, including relevant case studies, and an insight into the emergent corporate and entrepreneurial milieus.
Aneta Bogdan is one of the founders and the Managing Partner of Brandient, the award-winning brand strategy and design company with offices in Bucharest and Singapore. With hundreds of innovative brand projects under her lead over the past 25 years, Aneta advocates branding and design as business and reputation tools, creating and revitalizing entrepreneurial, corporate and institutional brands in emerging environments. In recognition of her contribution to the marketing profession, Aneta is Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). Click here to see more about Aneta.
About Brandient
Brandient is an independent brand strategy and design consultancy founded in Bucharest in 2002 by Aneta Bogdan, Cristian Kit Paul and Mihai Bogdan — never part of a global network, working directly for the owners, CEOs and boards of its clients, with an all-senior team and category exclusivity. In over two decades the firm has created or rebuilt more than 300 brands, 279 of them published as case studies at brandient.com/work — from Romania’s national leaders to brands carried worldwide. The firm has been active in Southeast Asia for more than a decade. The work has earned 84 international awards and distinctions — most recently a Red Dot (2025) and two Graphis Golds (2026) — 64 documented mentions in international design books and publications, and, in 2015, a place among the inaugural inductees of the REBRAND Hall of Fame, alongside Interbrand and MetaDesign.
About Branding on the Eastern Front
Branding on the Eastern Front is Aneta Bogdan’s account of building brands — and a brand consultancy — in the new Europe. First published in Romanian in 2010, with a foreword by Wally Olins, the first edition sold out within months; a second edition followed in 2011, subtitled “About reputation, against the tide,” the English international edition in 2018, and e-book and audio editions since. Aneta Bogdan, Brandient’s co-founder and Managing Partner, published it under the firm’s own imprint: the book’s page.
