A Malaysian beauty brand that cares for the spirit as much as the skin — and gives all its profits away
Bucharest and Singapore, November 2021 — From Skin to Soul, a new purpose-driven beauty brand, launches in Malaysia: Brandient’s latest project to come to life in Asia.
From Skin to Soul, Brandient’s latest brand to launch in Asia, was conceived as more than cosmetics: a purpose-driven range under the Mangosteen family that nurtures body and spirit alike and channels 100% of its profits to social causes for women and children across South-East Asia. For a millennial and Gen-Z audience it draws on the region’s own flowers, fruits and herbs as clean-label care, made to respect nature and life.
The design leans on emptiness — a revered idea in Asian design — for labels that are simple yet not simplistic, optimistic and fresh; a building-block logo rearranges across the range, and a calligraphy-inspired touch keeps it human.
About Brandient
Brandient is an independent brand strategy and design consultancy founded in Bucharest in 2002 by Aneta Bogdan, Cristian Kit Paul and Mihai Bogdan — never part of a global network, working directly for the owners, CEOs and boards of its clients, with an all-senior team and category exclusivity. In over two decades the firm has created or rebuilt more than 300 brands, 279 of them published as case studies at brandient.com/work — from Romania’s national leaders to brands carried worldwide. The firm has been active in Southeast Asia for more than a decade. The work has earned 84 international awards and distinctions — most recently a Red Dot (2025) and two Graphis Golds (2026) — 64 documented mentions in international design books and publications, and, in 2015, a place among the inaugural inductees of the REBRAND Hall of Fame, alongside Interbrand and MetaDesign.
About Mangosteen
Mangosteen is a Malaysian social enterprise in personal care — a YTL venture whose products carry the scents of Southeast Asia and whose stated model channels its profits to organizations empowering women and children, from the Dignity for Children Foundation to the Women’s Aid Organisation. Brandient created the brand and its “From Skin to Soul” world in 2018 — one chapter of a longer relationship with the YTL Group: the From Skin to Soul case, the YTL Group case.
