In Brand Finance’s Romania 50 for 2026 — the ranking’s tenth edition — nineteen of the fifty most valuable Romanian brands carry Brandient’s work: some created here, some re-created, some guided in strategy or culture. Four stand in the top ten.

The 2026 edition is the ranking’s tenth, and it tells a story of a maturing brand economy: the total value of Romania’s top 50 brands has doubled in ten years, from 3.7 billion euros in 2017 to 7.4 billion in 2026. Although Dacia, the Renault-owned carmaker, remains the country’s most valuable brand at 1.2 billion euros, and this year marks DIGI’s climb to third after a 28 percent surge, the performance story of the edition belongs to Banca Transilvania: second place at 876 million euros and, on brand strength, the strongest Romanian brand of any kind, with a Brand Strength Index of 92.9 out of 100, an elite AAA+ rating, the strongest banking brand in Europe, and a place among the world’s ten strongest banking brands for the fifth consecutive year. Brands created by entrepreneurs and private companies over the last 36 years now make up over 68 percent of the list and 62 percent of its value — and that entrepreneurial cohort is where Brandient has done most of its work.

“In 2017, the top 50 most valuable and strongest Romanian brands stood at a total brand value of EUR3.7 billion. Ten years later, despite a global pandemic and a war in a neighbouring country, the total value of the top 50 has doubled to EUR7.4 billion. This reflects findings from thousands of Brand Finance studies conducted globally over recent decades, consistently demonstrating the resilience of strong brands in turbulent times,” said Mihai Bogdan, Managing Director, Brand Finance Romania, presenting the ranking.

Brand by brand, the top-ten four — and what, exactly, Brandient did for each.

Banca Transilvania — 876 million euros, second. The bank climbed to second place, behind only Dacia, and is the strongest Romanian brand outright — Brand Strength Index 92.9, rated AAA+, the strongest banking brand in Europe and among the world’s ten strongest banking brands for the fifth consecutive year. This is a brand Brandient re-created and has helped steward ever since: the 2016 brand upgrade modernized the well-known shield around a tricolor treatment while preserving its hard-won equity, and rebuilt the identity system for the scale of Romania’s largest bank. The relationship then ran through brand creation and re-creation programs inside and outside the group — NeoBT, the bank’s digital brand, created in 2019; the Star Card reconstruction and the redesign of the card portfolio; the 2022 communication-design platform, a flexible brand signature with standards that let a market leader read as one brand across every channel; and the re-creation of Victoriabank in Moldova after the group’s expansion there.

eMAG — 672 million euros, fourth. The e-commerce leader’s brand value fell 25 percent, to below its 2024 level; Brand Finance attributes the decline to a more conservative outlook, slower revenue forecasts and a higher discount rate for Romania. Brandient has shaped the brand since 2010, when its strategy reframed eMAG as an enabler of customers’ everyday needs rather than a price destination, and has articulated it through successive engagements — 2010, 2015, 2019, 2021 — spanning positioning, name and voice, identity, digital and communication design, and the employee-engagement programs that carried the Naspers-backed marketplace through its fastest-growing years.

Dedeman — 506 million euros, fifth. In the report’s own words, the most valuable brand fully owned by Romanian shareholders — up again this year, in retail, the ranking’s biggest sector at 1.7 billion euros and 24 percent of total value. Brandient rebranded Dedeman in 2007, as the company set out on its national expansion: “Dedicated to your plans,” fronted by the helmeted dog that became one of Romania’s most recognized brand marks. Brandient has returned to the brand repeatedly since — brand strategy, identity, packaging, branded environments, and the employee-engagement and organizational-culture programs that grew with the company as it became the absolute leader of the DIY category and the country’s largest entrepreneurial business by turnover and employees. Along the way Brandient also created the private-label brand Baudeman (2009) and designed the master pack of Etalon (2024).

Bitdefender — 199 million euros, ninth. The cybersecurity company that carried a Romanian brand onto the global stage, up from 183 million euros last year. When Brandient began the rebranding in 2011, the strategic question was whether a world-class security company should adopt a rootless international image or lean into its origins; the answer became the Dacian Dragon-Wolf — an ancient local totem of vigilance turned global brand mark. The work continued through 2022: the Glass City identity for the Bitdefender Enterprise division, a luminous redesign of the Dacian Wolf avatar, and the 2022 repositioning from antivirus to the broader cybersecurity arena, all later consolidated into a single masterbrand reference.

The fifteen beyond the top ten

Brandient’s work runs through the rest of the list as well: brands created from nothing, brands comprehensively re-created, portfolios put in order, and companies guided in brand strategy and culture. Their individual valuations appear only in Brand Finance’s paid report, so we don’t repeat them here — the ranking itself is public.

46QFort (Casa Noastră)New brand creation (2007) — quality and comfort from South-Eastern Europe’s largest window-frame maker
Fourteen of the fifteen Brandient brands ranked 11–50 in Brand Finance Romania 50 (2026); the fifteenth has no published case. Eighteen of the nineteen carry published cases at brandient.com/work.

The engagements differ in kind, and the distinction matters. Some of these brands were created at Brandient — Zuzu, QFort and Baudeman, one of Dedeman’s private labels, began as a strategy, a name and a blank page. Some were re-created — CEC Bank, Autonom, Farmacia Tei, Banca Transilvania — existing brands comprehensively rebuilt, strategy through identity. And some engagements worked where brands are hardest to reach: ALRO’s was brand strategy and organizational culture, brand as a management tool for de-commoditizing aluminum; One United Properties’ was voice and internal culture, down to the company’s internal manifesto.

Since 2002, a single Bucharest consultancy has worked on nineteen of the fifty brands this market values most — built or rebuilt from inside the economy that formed them — and eighteen of the nineteen have published cases in Brandient’s portfolio.
