of Romanian society

A group of Romania’s brightest minds in digital transformation joined forces to launch a Think Tank with a daring mission: to drive the nation’s economic competitiveness and quality of life through digital acceleration. To engage their audiences and inspire action, they needed more than just expertise, they needed a strong brand that embodied progress, impact, and digital momentum.

That’s where Brandient came in. Challenged to craft a think tank brand, we created a movement brand: Edge Institute - poised to Empower Digital Growth and Evolution. A brand designed to live and breathe in the digital space while making waves in public forums through conferences, advocacy, and thought leadership. Its identity, rooted in the pixelated fabric of the digital realm, captures both the urgency and potential of Romania’s digital evolution, driving engagement and action.

The result is a cutting-edge institutional brand that doesn’t just represent a vision but propels a national conversation and a movement towards digital transformation. Because when bold vision meets strategic brand thinking, real impact follows.

Initially conceptualized as an acronym for the think tank’s mission — to Empower Digital Growth and Evolution in Romania — Edge Institute is a name that is both powerful and daring in itself, positioning the brand as an authority at the frontier between the present and the future, constantly pushing forward.

Based on the symbol of the pixel — the inception point of all things digital — Edge Institute’s identity serves as a building block that can be arranged in infinite ways, much like ideas within a think tank, suggesting the ability to dynamically reshape perspectives. In this sense, it aligns with the institute’s analytical rigor and systematic approach to knowledge. The identity is tech-infused — from symbolism to chromatics — yet without leaning too heavily into a cold, corporate aesthetic. Instead, Brandient’s design highlights the intersection of technology and thought leadership, showcasing how digital tools drive research, innovation, and problem-solving.

To render a high resolution picture of what Edge Institute stands for, the brand’s identity has been infused with a conceptually rich visual territory based on the pixels of history that fuel its narrative. Carefully selected black-and-white archival photographs—free from ideological or propagandistic elements—capture key moments of technological progress across different economic and social sectors, coming together to embody evolution and to bring a much needed human touch to future technologies. By weaving these visuals into the brand, Edge Institute gains a sense of authenticity, building relevance and connecting with its audience on an emotional level, while bridging past innovations with the future of the digital economy.
