YAM — YOU ARE MORE
Making a robot feel human — Romania’s first robotic barista
Robonnement built its reputation on a distinctive idea: making robots accessible not only to use but to own. Its platform lets people co-own robots — holding a share of a machine and earning from the work it does — and connects the owners, users and integrators of automation in a single marketplace. With YAM — You Are More, the company brought that idea out of the factory and into everyday life, launching Romania’s first robotic barista: a machine that makes specialty coffee at the level of a skilled human, ordered from an app and co-ownable like any other Robonnement robot. Brandient was engaged to create the brand.
Consumer-facing robotics carries a specific anxiety. People meet a robot doing a job a person used to do and feel the chill of being replaced; technology at that edge reads all too easily as cold, or as a threat. A robotic barista had to overcome exactly that reflex to be welcomed rather than resented. The brand’s real task was to make automation feel human.
Brandient built the brand on a reframe. YAM — You Are More casts the robot not as a replacement but as an ally: not here to take anyone’s job, but to handle the repetitive work flawlessly and free people to do more and become more. It is a promise of empowerment and optimism rather than displacement — “I’m not here to take your job; I’m here to free you up to do more, a humble servant doing the repetitive tasks flawlessly.” And the name carries a second, disarming note: the “yam(my)” resonance that makes a piece of technology feel warm and approachable rather than distant. Automation reframed as a partner in what people can become.
The visual identity matched that spirit — vibrant, modern, youthful and inviting, every element from the shapes to the palette designed to lower the barrier and signal openness rather than the cold precision robotics usually wears. The result gave a first-of-its-kind product a brand that lets a robot read as a friendly presence rather than an intimidating one — the human face of a company built to put robots within everyone’s reach.
