From humble beginnings to an internationally recognized Transylvanian honey brand
Apis Prod began in 1992 as a 50-hive family apiary in Blaj, Transylvania, founded by a local professor. As it grew into an exporting honey house, it came to Brandient not for a logo but for an architecture — a way to carry one company across the whole shelf, from everyday to premium, without the range dissolving into unrelated labels.
Brandient built it as a house of brands under a single endorser. The masterbrand was named Apidava™ — apis, the Latin for bee, joined to dava, the ancient Dacian word for fortress — preserving the craft’s roots while signaling stature; its mark folds a single-line bee into a lowercase 'a' (for albina, bee in Romanian), the signature that vouches for everything beneath it. Under it, Brandient set a clear tiered ladder, each tier with its own role and audience: SuperBee™ at the value end, fronted by a playful bee character; the refreshed flagship Roua Florilor (Flowers’ Dew) for the mainstream; and DiMelio™, a premium organic acacia honey dressed in the cues of authenticity and unhurried, traditional craft.
The result was less a set of packs than a system — one beekeeping house made legible across price points, each brand knowing its place, all vouched for by the Apidava bee.
