Radiocom
The towering wave field
The National Radiocommunications Company (Radiocom) is the invisible backbone of Romanian broadcasting — the state-owned operator whose transmission network carries the country’s television and radio signals to some 99% of the territory. As it prepared to move beyond pure broadcasting into telephony and the internet, it had to reinvent itself as a credible, modern, competitive telecom player — turning an infrastructure dominance no rival could replicate into a brand.
Brandient proposed the name Radiocom — drawn from the legal name (Radiocomunicații) but shorter and fitter for a telecom business.
The identity is a towering wave field: a multicolored field of vibration that optically winds up to form a tower — the element specific to the broadcasting category. Perpendicular axes communicate power, credibility and stability; the color gradient and "bits" signal the breadth of a broadcasting-plus-data offer and an orientation toward progress.
The identity was recognized with a EULDA 2006 and an Identity Best of the Best 3rd Place for Industry (Moscow, 2006).
